Assessing the Water Quality in Costa Rica and Applicable Waste Management Techniques

Public Deposited

E. coli populations in Costa Rican rivers and streams were measured and compared to U.S. standards set for public health. Nitrate and phosphate samples were also collected. Methods used to reduce pollutants in similarly contaminated areas in the U.S. are discussed and a proposed plan to reduce water contamination in Costa Rica is presented.
