To the left, this includes an individual not previously captured in the prior photo. However it slightly obscures the two individuals on the far right. On the back of the photograph is a sticky note that reads: '(13) Signing of 4-year college status (State Funding) - (L/R) Dr. Donald Patterson, Joplin; Thos. Taylor, Carthage; Elvin Ummel, Jasper; Fred Hughes, Joplin; Miles Anderson, Carthage; Norval Matthews, Webb City; Gov. Christopher Bond; Jerry Wells, Joplin; And Carolyn McKee, Carthage.' Within this list, 'Norval Matthews' could be a typo and be referring to Norvell Matthews, a prior trustee to MSSU."
