"This image is shortly before/after Four Year Full State Funding, 1977 # 6, Trustees, along with other members of MSSU's administration, and Governor Bond, cherish the moment of MSSU becoming a fully state funded college. To the left, this includes an individual not previously captured in the prior photo. However it slightly obscures the two individuals on the far right. On the back of the photograph is a sticky note that reads: '(13) Signing of 4-year college status (State Funding) - (L/R) Dr. Donald Patterson, Joplin; Thos. Taylor, Carthage; Elvin Ummel, Jasper; Fred Hughes, Joplin; Miles Anderson, Carthage; Norval Matthews, Webb City; Gov. Christopher Bond; Jerry Wells, Joplin; And Carolyn McKee, Carthage.' Within this list, 'Norval Matthews' could be a typo and be referring to Norvell Matthews, a prior trustee to MSSU."
